There's nothing but classic songs here, performed by the legends who originally made these songs famous: Chubby Checker, the Tymes, Dee Dee Sharp, Bobby Rydell, the Rays, the Dovells, and ? & the Mysterians. Unfortunately, these aren't the original recordings, but rather re-recordings. It's interesting to hear these old-timers revisit their most famous songs and hear just how lively their performances are despite their age. This sort of novelty only holds your interest for so long, though. In the end, this isn't the sort of album you should bother seeking out unless you're a die-hard fan of these songs or if you're genuinely interested in hearing how lively the re-recordings are, because, quite frankly, there isn't anything here worth getting too excited about -- these artists are old, as are the songs, and this CD only makes that fact too painfully apparent.
