Originally put out under guitarist Bernard Addison's leadership, this LP (which overlaps with but only partly duplicates the mono 77 album of the same name) features the veteran swing altoist Pete Brown. Still in good form this late in his career (even if his jump style was out of date), Brown is showcased in a quintet with trumpeter Johnny Letman, guitarist Addison (getting one of his rare opportunities to stretch out in later years), bassist Hayes Alvis and drummer Sonny Greer. Sticking to standards and fairly basic material, Brown and company sound quite upbeat during this spirited jam session. Easily recommended for mainstream collectors.
