AllMusic Review by

This unique album incorporates lectures and storytelling about the ancient Andean peoples and their use of clay whistling vessels, demonstrations of the whistles and resonances of these instruments. Even a single whistle can sound very high and penetrating; gang them up and the effect is unbelievable. According to the liner notes, the vibrations can actually set up sympathetic sounds within your head. (I'm convinced. It feels like I have three sets of eardrums, and there might be a miniature bullroarer in my head.) Definitely a different experience; the term "psycho-acoustic" really seems to fit. Daniel Statnekov narrates the introduction, while Halpern plays the electric and acoustic pianos in the background.
