AllMusic Review by

A year after the success of The Future Sound of Retro, Lee Coombs returns with an updated collection of breakbeats, Perfecto Breaks. Although not as vital as his 2001 collection (which was a summary of his various singles and club tracks that summer), Perfecto Breaks manages to maintain his usual exuberance and fuses 12 good tracks together to create a memorable mix. The album is an excellent sampling of his moody sets, which often try to recall the melancholy dance anthems of New Order without directly taking from the masters. Driving along with a throbbing rhythm and a synergy that can only be drawn out of well-mixed collections such as this, Coombs delivers another winner and proves why he is such a hot commodity in 2002.
