AllMusic Review by

When one considers that this album teams together Peanuts Hucko (who often sounds like Benny Goodman) and vibraphonist Peter Appleyard (who when he wants to can sound like a close relative of Lionel Hampton) in a quintet, it is not surprising that much of the music is in the vein of Benny Goodman's small groups. With pianist Ross Tompkins, bassist Arnold Fishkind and drummer Jack Sperling also in the band, this is an infectious set of swing-oriented music. In addition to the dixieland standard "Riverboat Shuffle" and various swing tunes, included on the album are four little-known but enjoyable Hucko originals. This out-of-print LP is worth searching for.
