Pays Sauvage Review

by Celeste Rhoads

Three years after her debut with the album Autre Bout du Monde, French singer/songwriter Emily Loizeau released Pays Sauvage. The talented pianist has pushed other instruments to the forefront on this latest work, and her voice has reached a maturity ripe for more soulful songs, such as those found here. She's also brought several talented guest stars along for some collaborations, most notably, Moriarty on the track "Ma Maison." "Sister" and "Fais Battre Ton Tambour" highlight her growth as an artist, and may make this album appealing to a more sophisticated audience.
