Pass the Love Review

by Tim A. Smith

After over two decades as a recording artist, which has enabled him to receive a slew of Dove and Grammy Awards, Larnelle Harris still possesses the power-packed vocal chords that has led him to become recognized as one of the industry's top pure singers. This project finds Harris incorporating more of an R&B presence. Known for the way he can deliver a ballad, Harris brings all of the goods to the table on the beautifully arranged, soul-stirring track "Never Too Broken to Mend." Harris also uses the music here to tackle a number of important subjects. The issue of child abuse is addressed through the title track, "Pass the Love." The emotional subject of patriotism is brought to the forefront on the closing track, "The American Spirit." This song was penned in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, tragedies. Pass the Love is chock full of good, soul-inspiring music.
