Much confusion surrounds this release -- the final album of the New York City avant-garde/folk/punk legends was released in 1973 and is known to be the final Godz album, released under the title Godz Bless California. In fact, the album came out in 1970 as a splinter group of the Godz that, believe it or not, features contributions from Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, and David Peel, among other guests. Only one of the Godz was on board at the time, and the album is certainly a diversion from the raucous sound the first three Godz releases: Contact High With the Godz, Godz 2, and The Third Testament. For collectors of the Godz and the ESP label, this is essential stuff, though newcomers to the group would be better advised to explore the first three albums.
