AllMusic Review by

The erratic but well-intentioned clarinetist Mezz Mezzrow goes to France for this LP and performs the two-part (slow and fast) "Blues With a Bridge" and two sections of "Minor With a Bridge" (same format) in a quintet with both Peanuts Holland and Guy Longnon on trumpets, pianist Milton Sealey and drummer Kansas Fields. The spontaneous music, which emphasizes ensembles but also has some solo work, generally holds together despite the absence of a bass. This was one of Mezz's last recordings, and the LP is worth searching for by trad jazz fans, for there is plenty of spirit in the music.
