The music on this LP, the final recording session by trumpeter-bandleader Oscar Celestin, has fortunately been reissued as part of a GHB CD. Although the playing is a bit extended, the album only includes four songs ("Down by the Riverside," "Oh Didn't He Ramble," "Marie la Veau" and "When the Saints Go Marching In") and the emphasis is on Celestin's vocals. However Celestin's singing is authoritative and spirited while the instrumental choruses are precious examples of early New Orleans jazz (mixed with a bit of show biz for tourists).
