Seattle band October's Gate has a fresh big acoustic band sound that has traces of the British Invasion and The Mamas And Papas. The music is not extraordinary, but it's tight and supports the vocals. The lyrics are concerned with relationships and the complications of the modern world; such as facing the breakdown of the world in the sanctuary of a family. After a while, the band sounds a little too earnest, but with enough white wine they might take on adolescent significance.
