Pete Namlook and Bill Laswell have collaborated dozens of times. Their Outland is as deep as it gets. Outland, Vol. 4 is a diverse set of atmospheres, drones, acoustics, sequences, and experimental textures. The diversity provides a circuitous route for the journey. Despite that route, Laswell and Namlook know where they are going and how to get there. Each step of the journey is calculated and firm. The sci-fi extras provide a mysterious aura. The twists and turns are the soundscape. This CD will appeal to fans of Klaus Schulze, Radio Massacre International, Kubusschnitt, and Global Communication. For their fans, it is essential; for e-music fans, it is important.
