The soundtrack to OUR FRIEND, MARTIN is a collection of R&B and Hip-Hop songs from both established and up-and-coming artists. The direct-to-video movie is an animated feature based on the life and times of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legendary artists like Stevie Wonder ("Happy Birthday"), Marvin Gaye ("What's Going On") and the Jackson 5 ("I'll Be There") join contemporary R&B acts like 702 ("Finding My Way") and Salt 'N' Pepa with Sheryl Crow ("Imagine" - Remix). The album also features the classic Diana Ross peace anthem, "Reach Out And Touch (Somebody's Hand)" and the inspirational "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," sung by Deelah Morgan.
"Feelin' It," the first single, is a funky Hip-Hop/R&B track from Antuan & Ray Ray, members of the ten member rap crew The Biv 10 Pee Wees. The theme of the album works as songs about hope, protest, dreams, inspiration and peace mesh well from the different eras they were released in. Make sure you check out the praise-filled track from Brian McKnight and Diana King ("When We Were Kings") and the Montell Jordan choir-funk of "4 You."
