AllMusic Review by

One of the many patriotic albums released in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Our America presents two discs worth of patriotic and sentimental songs, as performed by the children's vocal group Young American All-Stars. The children sound best on the simplest and best-known songs, such as "The Star Spangled Banner," "Yankee Doodle Dandy," and "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," and less convincing on pop numbers like "We Are Family" and "All You Need Is Love." However, the group's versions of "Imagine" and "What a Wonderful World" work surprisingly well. It's arguable whether or not Our America really needed to be a double-disc collection; a single disc of the set's highlights probably would have sufficed. But, since its intentions are so good (a portion of the proceeds benefited the New York Fire Fighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund) it seems uncharitable -- so to speak -- to complain about its faults too much.
