AllMusic Review by

This volume covers R&B from modern harmony to rockin' burners to the insanely hilarious -- everything from Billy Ward & the Dominoes' "Stardust," and Lonnie Macks' burning "Memphis," to Wilson Pickett's wailing "If You Need Me." The diversity finds romantic ballads like "What's Your Name" floating alongside Bobby Day's bouncing "Little Bitty Pretty One." In the novelty/dance vein there's the Rivingtons' "Papa-Oom-Mow- Mow" as well as the Trashmen's "Surfin' Bird" and Larry Williams' "Bony Moronie." Outrageous but lovable R&B, this will cut the ice at any gathering.
