In his liner notes to this European compilation, licensed from the original EMI recordings, John Tobler writes, "This collection may be the only Gerry & the Pacemakers CD you'll ever need, as it contains all the hits from both Britain and America between 1963 and 1966." Fair enough. The group hit the U.S. and U.K. charts with 13 songs, and they're all here, along with a few B-sides and cover songs. The sound is good, and Tobler's concise notes hit the high points of the band's career. There have been many similar compilations and, with its European origin, this one may not be as readily accessible as domestic ones, but this one is as good as any and better than most.
