No woman in the United Kingdom ever sang soul music with the same skill, heart, and emotional impact that Dusty Springfield brought to her music. Beginning her career in the folk combo the Springfields, Dusty went solo in 1962, and cut a string of hits that made her a star at home and in the United States before traveling to the American South in 1969 to record her masterpiece, the blue-eyed soul classic Dusty in Memphis. The Opus Collection is a 16-song sampler that brings together some of the greatest moments from Dusty's 30 years as a recording artist. Selections include "Son of a Preacher Man," "Wishin' and Hopin'," "Breakfast in Bed," "The Look of Love," "I've Been Wrong Before," and many more.
