Lewinski's debut EP might seem like every other punk-pop EP on the surface -- it's fun, brief, and has a sarcastic title -- but their surprisingly tight songs make it worth checking out. Lewinski's gleefully snide ditties are reminiscent of the Buzzcocks and the Clash, with a heavier emphasis on girls and drinking. The band's diverse assault incorporates elements of reggae and emo as well, adding a bit of variety to their concise punk-pop nuggets. The EP is ultimately too short to make a stronger impression, but Lewinski has a familiar yet surprisingly distinctive sound that makes Only When I'm Punk an auspicious debut.
