Steve Jolliffe, a former Tangerine Dream member, has carved out quite a niche for himself as a holistic new age performer. He blends heavy sequences, deep atmospheres, and firm melodies to craft Omni. This CD has three long-form (over 16 minutes) compositions that deal with facing the unexplained. The pieces are appropriately dramatic and mysterious. Jolliffe confronts the unexplained and shakes it up. This CD will appeal to fans of Klaus Schulze, Edgar Froese, Paul Haslinger, and Johannes Schmoelling. It is a good listen, but not essential.
