Romane's second album Ombre is another collection of wonderful, swinging jazz in the tradition of Django Reinhardt. Supported by bassist Pierre Maingourd, violinist Florin Niculescu, accordionist Francis Varis and guitarists Philipe Cuillerier and Laurent Bajata, Romane plays a selection of original material, plus two covers ("Chesses Croises," "Chez Fernand"). Throughout the album, Romane's playing is graceful, good-humored and utterly involving, and the result is a thoroughly delightful record. It's so good, you'll swear that it's Django reincarnated.
