AllMusic Review by

Over the course of NYC UNDERGROUND PARTY's four volumes, the name Louie DeVito has become synonymous with non-stop party music, as the mixmaster has consistently come up with some of the hottest dance tracks on the club scene for his compilation albums. The fourth installment in the series is certainly no exception, and DeVito makes sure that the energy level never wavers. From cut to cut, thunderous dance beats and irresistibly danceable synthesizer riffs abound, as the disc moves from hardcore dance favorites like "Blow the Speakers" by the Moon to such pop crossover artists as British big-beat star Fatboy Slim. A previous generation of underground club music pops up here as well, in the Thunderpuss version of "Papa's Got a Brand New Pigbag," a chestnut from the early '80s, originally recorded by British punk-funk cult heroes Pigbag, and here given a contemporary house sheen.
