AllMusic Review by

Japan's P-Vine does it again, assembling this absolutely wild and woolly ace collection of guitar blues recorded in New York during the 1950s and early '60s. There are a couple of Mighty Joe Young cuts here, a pair from Tarheel Slim, and a whopping six by Wild Jimmy Spruill. Hal Paige is here, as are Wilbert Harrison with the original "Kansas City" and Sammy Taylor's burning "Ain't That Some Shame." There are notes and the sound is as clean as it can be given the condition some of these tapes were in. Snag it and quick -- P-Vine titles disappear from shelves fast.
