AllMusic Review by Al Campbell

In 1998 the Simitar label, a division of Warner Special Products, released several budget-priced discs featuring number one hits from the '60s, '70s and '80s, loosely based around such themes as Lovin' Feelings, Rock It Up and Smooth Love. Each disc presents the original version of these popular singles on a 16-track CD. Number Ones: Party Time highlights include "Venus" (Bananarama), "Boogie Oogie Oogie" (Taste of Honey), "Born to Be Wild" (Steppenwolf) and "Celebration" (Kool & the Gang). Despite minor packaging flaws, Simitar's Number Ones is a decent budget-line series.
