AllMusic Review by

The trio of Mike Myers, Big Nem and Storm 6 came storming out of Queens with their debut album, 1999's Nu Day Dawnin'. It's a set of dynamic hip-hop jams indebted in no small part to Wu-Tang Clan, especially on lyrical kung-fu tracks like "Samurai Showdown." IV-V-VI pursue many different paths here, from the party-time single "Drop Tha Drawers" and "Partying Grounds" to dozens games like "Move on 'Em." It all makes for a solid debut and an interestingly unusual hip-hop album in the midst of a scene full of cookie-cutter LPs.
