AllMusic Review by

Like the Nova Tunes and Test compilations, the Nova Classics discs demonstrate the breadth and open-mindedness of France's Radio Nova, but as you can tell from the title, the focus here is more rooted in the distant past -- especially where soul, funk, and reggae are considered -- with a smattering of relatively recent inclusions that should appeal to fans of old sounds. The second volume of Nova Classics features Grace Jones' "Pull Up to the Bumper," Shinehead's "Billie Jean," 24-Carat Black's "Poverty's Paradise," Pat Bowie and Charles McPherson's "Feelin' Good," and Mr. Fingers' "Can U Feel It." Overall, it's not quite as solid as the first volume, and the selections are quite scattered in a stylistic sense.
