Dark Day Dawning's Nothing That I Wouldn't Give should come with a sticker, because at first glance this looks all the world like a liquid goth album. But no, the grindcore-alternative rock blend that the band crafts is in sharp contrast to its imagery and lyrics. The music is quite bizarre, sounding like the Misfits being led by Seth Putnam at some moments, then suddenly shifting into post-grunge Creed moments when the song starts to slow. The album is hopelessly simple, not in a cool Napalm Death way, but more like it doesn't have a whole lot of ideas, and the punk-grindcore-alternative rock blend gets tiring fast. Maybe death metal fans would like this, but it seems as though every audience they cater to would hate the other two genres featured.
