Take a dash of Linkin Park, a pinch of Live, and a heaping helping of Faith No More and you have the recipe for Nothing Left, the debut album from New Jersey rockers There4. Blending a passionate alternative metal sound with the funky basslines, chugging guitars, and lush keyboards of Faith No More's late-'80s period, There4 still manages to hold a distinct voice on the material here. The guitar/keyboard approach found here has rarely been utilized outside of progressive metal bands like Dream Theater, which is a shame because it sounds so great otherwise, but it also works to There4's advantage. They may not fit in with their contemporaries in metal outside of the occasional acidic raps, but instead There4 sounds fresh and motivated on the songs here.
