On No Comprendo, German-born club maven Khan composed the music, then asked his favorite vocalists to write the melodies and lyrics. The result is an album that lacks a cohesive sound, but is a compelling listen because of its wide spectrum of styles and sounds. The title is supposedly an allusion to being a tourist and feeling out of sync in a strange land and the music remains faithful to that central idea. Through the distinct vocal stylings of Francoise Cactus, Jon Spencer, Diamanda Galas, and the ethereal Julee Cruise, Khan creates a bizarre travelogue of cultures, ideas, and noises.
