Preceding their Furusato album just a bit, the folksy duo Yuzu's Niji single contains a quick dose of Yuzu-styled joy for their fans who couldn't wait an additional month. The single opens with orchestral strings and a slightly off-key chorus that showcases the off-the-cuff method that Yuzu specialize in (possibly from the duo's busking days). It's perhaps not the best ballad ever created, but it's a nice introduction to the band. The B-side uses an overly simplified, bouncing country romp that feels equal parts Beatles experimentation and buddy movie ending. It's kitschy, but approachable. This is really a summary of the set as a whole as well. It may only be a quick palate-tempter, but it's an effective one for the band's fans. Just don't think of the set as anything more substantial.
