Not a new age group, this ensemble is described on their first CD cover as creating "new music for old instruments," and that's what they do. Raphael Mostel resonates Tibetan brass meditation bowls, gradually introducing sharp and startling sounds that will awake the chakras. "Jacob's Ladder" combines didgeridoos, water, and breaking sounds with wailing thighbone trumpets. John Charles Thomas produces a solo on the ancient lyzarden with jazz-line inflections in "Nightsong," and the brilliant singer and instrumentalist Mieczyslaw Litwinski is also featured throughout.
