AllMusic Review by

A smartly paced yet ultimately uneven single-disc anthology of songs from the group's long career, Nights in White Satin: The Collection begins appropriately with the soaring title cut, albeit a live version from 1970. What follows are fairly standard Moody Blues highlights like "Tuesday Afternoon (Forever Afternoon)," "Ride My See Saw," and "The Story in Your Eyes," but the latter half of the collection tosses in a few too many late-period, middle-tier tracks like "Here Comes the Weekend" and "Rock 'n' Roll Over You" in lieu of genuine hits like "In Your Wildest Dreams."
