Nice Work If You Can Get It is a collection of recordings from jazz piano legend Nat King Cole. His incredible playing skills and beautiful voice are both here in good form, but strangely enough this is a very unimpressive album. What is mostly wrong with it is that the song selections are simply not that good. Much of the material chosen here is more instrumentally driven, and although his playing skills are excellent, the music just does not sustain interest like his better material does. These songs are performed wonderfully, and collectors will find this compilation of interest, but those looking for a good compilation of Cole's music would be better off seeking a different compilation.
