AllMusic Review by

This long out-of-print LP has seven titles (two previously unreleased) from Red Allen's exciting 1946 band (with trombonist J.C. Higginbotham and altoist Don Stovall), the two selections ("Wild Man Blues" and "Rosetta") performed by Allen with an all-star group on The Sound of Jazz television broadcast and four Dixieland standards played in 1963 with a sextet including trombonist Cutty Cutshall, clarinetist Tony Parenti and pianist Ralph Sutton. Red Allen collectors (and listeners who enjoy the spirit of classic jazz) will enjoy this fine LP.
