AllMusic Review by

CEMA Special Markets' New Wave Hits distinguishes itself from other budget-line New Wave compilations by balancing the familiar -- the Flying Lizards' "Money (That's What I Want)," the Vapors' "Turning Japanese," the Knack's "My Sharona," Blondie's "One Way or Another" and even the Specials' "Message to You Rudy" -- with such cult classics as Ultravox's "Vienna," the Humans' "I Live in the City," Magazine's "About the Weather," Klark Kent's "Don't Care" and the Motels' "Danger." Those tracks don't often appear on compilations, which is why this one is worth the attention of New Wave fans that aren't on a budget.
