Each volume in Platinum Disc's weak New Wave '80s series offers its own random assortment of tracks that have little to do with one another -- in fact, several of the selections scattered across the discs aren't even new wave (hello, Sly Fox), falling well outside the time frame, in addition to having little to do with new wave in the stylistic sense. Another problem is that each disc features only ten songs. The third volume includes the J. Geils Band's "Freeze Frame," Blondie's "The Tide Is High," Thomas Dolby's "She Blinded Me With Science," Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy," and the Vapors' "Turning Japanese."
