The Men They Couldn't Hang's reunion album Never Born to Follow is more straightforward than their '80s records, verging closer to roots rock and folk-rock than reeling Irish folk-punk. That's actually not a bad thing, since it makes the album sound fresh, not nostalgic. Furthermore, the songwriting is clever and memorable, making Never Born to Follow a thoroughly successful comeback.
