A band whose members are so serious about folk metal that they claim their lyrics are in Swedish rather than their native Finnish because they think it sounds more trollish, Finntroll's mirthful mix of black metal and humppa (a Finnish polka) has placed them squarely at the heart of the folk metal explosion of the early 2000s. On Natten Med de Levande Finntroll, the Finnish band brings its raucous sound to the big stage with an epic live set that feels more akin to an insane night at a medieval tavern than a metal show. Although the band can be an acquired taste, those brave souls who have experienced Finntroll's albums and want to get a taste of their live performance will be more than satisfied with this crisply recorded and solidly performed live set.
