This 10" LP was the soundtrack to the 1950 musical of the same name, featuring the six major songs from the film. Jane Powell was the nominal star -- a specialist in pop and light classical songs with a lyrical bent, she gets to indulge to her heart's content with this score, doing "Musetta's Waltz" from La Boheme and singing beautifully in duet with Ann Sothern on "Magic in the Moonlight." But the real star here is Carmen Miranda, a few years past her absolute prime but still a merciless show-stealer on her two featured numbers, "Ca-Room! Pa Pa" and "Yipsee-I-O," both of which are worth the price of admission by themselves for Miranda's vocal acrobatics.
