The sequel to Cleopatra's initial album of Bob Marley remixes (Remix Revolution Greats), Mystic Mixes features contributions from the label's cachet of industrial artists, most prominently Matt Green of Spahn Ranch and Julian Beeston of Nitzer Ebb. The Marley/Wailers tracks in question date from 1969-1975 and tend not to include his best-known material from that earlier portion of his career, although some of the originals were produced by the legendary Leslie Kong. While the compilation does boast a few intriguing re-imaginings, by and large the club/electronic-oriented sound is a less than compelling match for the rootsiness of the originals.
