My Music for Yoga offers just that: a collection of reflective, gently uplifting instrumentals perfect for yoga as well as meditation. The opening track, Gregor Theelen's brief but charming flute piece "Don't Keep Us Waiting," provides a soothing warm-up for more extended, meditative compositions, like Daniel Kobialka's string-driven "Gift of Dreams" and Erik Berglund's introspective harp melody "Lotus Reflection." The final track, Vlasta Marek's droning percussion piece "How," is another of the album's highlights. My Music for Yoga's only flaw -- and it's an admittedly slight one -- is that the difference in sonic textures between the more synth-based pieces and those performed on organic instruments can be somewhat jarring. However, on the whole the album more than delivers on its promise of restful yet engaging background music.
