Credible set from 1980 mostly cut in Chicago but first out on the German L+R logo. Taylor's in typically solid form, and his tough backing includes the marvelous Sunnyland Slim on piano and harpist Carey Bell. Taylor pays homage to his pal Jimmy Reed with a loping "Going to Virginia" and Muddy Waters on "Blow Wind Blow," but "Soul Brother" rides a chunky R&B groove that's a long way from Reed's rudimentary rhythms. The last five sides stem from a 1980 European tour (with Hubert Sumlin and Bell handling some of the vocals) and don't add much to the package.
