This is an early album from one of Henri Debs' stable of young talents. Eric Brouta, a native of Guadeloupe, delivers straight-ahead zouk with grit and plenty of swing here. "Telephone" was one of the big hits off this album. It was clear at this point in his career that he was going to be a mainstay of Debs' studio recording empire. Brouta can produce songs with drum-driven drive as well as zouk love tracks that swing sensually. When this album was released, zouk had just emerged from its zenith. Zouk fans were looking toward new talent to carry the zouk banner into the 1990s. Although short at under half an hour, this is a good introduction to this artist, as it shows the beginnings of his recording career. Recommended.
