A dark and stormy score that fits the cold atmosphere of the film perfectly. Frizzell doesn't mind reaching for the grander horror movie themes, either -- the main title could easily fit in with any of the more over the top 1960s/1970s horror films. An impressive commingling of methods finds Frizzell using orchestra, synthesizers, samplers and voices to paint the musical pictures, with jarring tones coming into play throughout. A good score release, with some very interesting moments...and some very traditional elements. No annoying rock songs, by the way -- just an excerpt from Handel's Julius Caesar.
