Volume two of MVP's Classic Mellow series slips in spots, but rises in others when compared to volume one, so call it a wash. The only irritant is the chop job done on William Devaughn's "Be Thankful for What You Got," but Lowrell's ten minutes plus, entrancing "Mellow, Mellow Right On" is adequate compensation. There are fewer mid- and uptempo tunes then the previous volume; this virtual red light special will floor you with its super cool offerings from the Temptations ("Just My Imagination"), Rose Royce ("I Wanna Get Next to You"), Billy Paul ("Me & Mrs. Jones"), and Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes ("If You Don't Know Me By Now").
