Music of the World: Israel is a collection of songs that reflects the Jewish traditions and culture of the area. The instrumentation strays towards modern western types with accompaniment from harp, flute and oboe, and strings, with the occasional synthesizer popping up here and there. The only exceptions are the glam rock "Alleluia Ben Kol Haoumote," complete with electric guitar and a cooing chorus of backing vocals and the up-tempo "Achalom." For a light introduction or unobtrusive background music with a Hebrew theme, this is a good collection.
