Music of Queen: A Symphonic Spectacular as interpreted by the Estonian National Symphony, the Estonian National Male-Voice Choir, and a cast of London theater magnates, transcends novelty like a misshapen boomerang returning obediently with the wrong scalp. The sheer theatricality of Queen -- Freddie Mercury to be more precise -- lends itself well to the stage, but these poorly executed, lifeless renditions of classics like "Killer Queen," "A Kind of Magic," and "We Are the Champions" are embarrassing and wince-inducing -- even the operatic "Bohemian Rhapsody" fails to ignite the slightest wisp of smoke. Try as they might, these well-meaning artists will not rock you. This is a dreadful record.
