Music Inspired By Pokémon is an odd collection of synth-pop supposedly inspired by the sensationally popular monster menagerie. However, the throaty, sensual vocals on songs like "Quiet" and "Missing You" seem to have very little to do with anything Pokémon-related. Playful tracks such as "Nanalla Nulla" and the overtly Pokémon-themed "Pikachu" and "Pokémon" are more appropriate to the album's title, along with songs such as "Trick You" and "So Many," which tie into the phenomenon's "gotta catch 'em all" slogan. Even if many of the songs on this collection were "inspired" by Pokémon in the loosest sense of the word, the bouncy, youthful pop that makes up the album will remind fans of the songs on the official soundtracks for the TV show, Pokémon: The First Movie and Pokémon 2000: The Power of One. Though it's not nearly as consistent as any of those collections, Music Inspired By Pokémon may still inspire some diehard Pokémon fans to go out and catch it.
