Murray the K was an enterprising disk jockey in New York who sponsored concerts at the Brooklyn Fox Theater in the 60's. His concerts, like this compilation album, featured the top artists. These recordings will bring back memories for many and provide a good sampling of the era for others. The best includes "He's Gone," by the Chantels, "Blue Velvet," by Bobby Lester & the Moonglows, who does triple duty with the uptempo "Shoo Doo-Be Doo," as the Moonlighters, and "We Go Together," as the Moonglows - same group, three different names. Rock n' Roll freaks will relish Chuck Berry's "Sweet Sixteen," and Ritchie Valen's "La Bamba." Out-of-print, but these songs can be found on many other albums.
