The second volume in the Guidance series charting the neo-diaspora of Brazilian, African, and Afro-Caribbean influences is a similarly astonishing, refreshing journey to the first. Opening with a warped Fela Kuti groove from Nuspirit Helsinki, the compilation moves smoothly to contemporary African funk from former Kuti drummer Tony Allen. After yet one more connection -- a remix of Femi Kuti's "Do Your Best" by British ethnic/electronic fusioneers Faze Action -- Mundial Musique, Vol. 2 transitions into Brazilian tracks from Easydelics, Suba (courtesy of a sublime Buscemi remix), and to end it all, Tom y Joyce's tender, acoustic "Un Regard, un Sourire."
