AllMusic Review by

Considering its opening number, a strong Dixieland-ish version of "The Sheik of Araby," this LP starts out quite promisingly but its extreme brevity (just 29 minutes) and some sticky, Muzaky strings on the ballads result in a lower rating. Trumpeter Harry James is in good form, whether it be on a relaxed "Indiana," a re-creation of Benny Goodman's version of "Don't Be That Way," or a swinging "Hot Lips," but every song on this set would have benefited from being twice as long.
